case study
Nasa Nebula
Client: Verari Systems
Project Type: Industrial | Commercial
In 2009 this became the space agency’s newest data powerhouse. Nebula is a cloud computing platform that meets the computational requirements for NASA’s researchers.
It is housed in a 40-foot FOREST container, a “data center in a box” constructed by a team of designers and engineers for Verari Systems; a testament to the most innovative of technologies.
Revolutionary data center containers provides an improved alternative to building additional expensive data centers, and allows for rapid expansion of IT infrastructure, greatly simplifying data center deployment.
- Modular Infastructure
- Extreme Flexibility in scale and scope
- Holds up to 30,000 CPU cores
- 50% more energy efficient than commercial clouds
Features
Nebula available to users at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California and Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
